Actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly left the makers of the film ‘Rakshas’ in a lurch after abruptly opting out of the project. Initially, it was suggested that creative differences between Ranveer and director Prasanth Varma led to the separation. However, a source close to the film’s production team claims that the ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ star exited the movie without any explanation.

According to an insider who spoke to Times Now.com/Zoom, Ranveer was the one who actively pursued the ‘Rakshas’ project. Prasanth Varma, who had intended to start another Telugu project post-‘Hanu-Man’, postponed his plans to accommodate Ranveer’s enthusiasm for ‘Rakshas’. The source detailed that Ranveer flew down to begin shooting and, contrary to some reports, did not just shoot a first-look video but filmed scenes for three days. “We packed up happily,” the source said, “and then suddenly received a message from Ranveer saying he would not be able to continue with the film, without any explanation.”

The sudden departure stunned the production team, who preferred to handle the situation quietly but were thwarted when news leaked to the Mumbai media, generating widespread controversy. The source speculated that someone might have advised Ranveer against participating in ‘Rakshas’ after he had already committed, raising questions about the timing of such advice and the subsequent financial and reputational impact on the project.

Addressing the financial implications, the source mentioned that the losses would not be significant. The production team plans to incorporate Ranveer’s three days of shooting into the final film using Artificial Intelligence if he does not return. “We are leaving the option of his return open,” the source added, expressing frustration over Ranveer’s withdrawal from a seemingly foolproof commitment.
