Today is the much-awaited consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, which has been a 50-year project for the BJP. To take part in the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on television, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Ayodhya by plane.
There will be special prayers and various events at nearby temples to commemorate the consecration ceremony, which will be observed by Indians both domestically and overseas. It’s being hailed as a Diwali, the celebration of Lord Ram’s return home following his victory over Ravan, with temples and homes decked out in festive lights.
PM Modi has been preparing for the noon consecration ceremony by adhering to a stringent 11-day set of religious rituals. All the nation’s major spiritual and religious sects will be represented at the historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
PM Modi will speak with the laborers who have been working on the Ram temple construction. Additionally, he would go to Kuber Tila and pray at the restored ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiv.
The Supreme Court granted the disputed land for a temple in a historic ruling in 2019 and requested that Muslims be given an alternative plot for a mosque. The dispute intensified and ended up in court soon when hundreds of Karsevaks destroyed a mosque from the 16th century on the property because they thought it was a temple dedicated to Lord Ram’s birthplace.
