Hours after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on Raj Kundra’s properties in connection with a long-standing pornography-related case, the businessman broke his silence late Friday night. Addressing the ongoing investigation, Kundra took to Instagram to clarify his position and expressed frustration over media reports dragging his wife, actress Shilpa Shetty, into the controversy.
In his Instagram story, Kundra wrote, “To whom it may concern, while the media seems to have a flair for drama, let’s set the record straight: I’m fully complying with the ongoing investigation that has been unfolding for the last four years. As for the claims of ‘associates,’ ‘pornographic,’ and ‘money laundering,’ let’s just say that no amount of sensationalism will cloud the truth. In the end, justice will prevail!”
He also made a firm appeal to respect personal boundaries, stating, “It’s unacceptable to repeatedly drag my wife’s name into unrelated matters. Please respect the boundaries…!!!”
Earlier in the day, Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer, Advocate Prashant Patil, issued a statement refuting reports that linked the actress to the ED’s investigation. “There have been reports in the media saying that my client Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra has been raided by the Enforcement Directorate. These reports are not true and are misleading. As per my instructions, there is no Enforcement Directorate raid on Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra as she has nothing to do with any offence of whatsoever nature,” the statement read.
Patil further urged media outlets to avoid using Shetty’s images or name in connection to the case, warning of strict action against irresponsible journalism. “The case in question is an ongoing investigation regarding Mr. Raj Kundra, and he is cooperating for the truth to come out. We request the media to refrain from sharing the pictures or videos of Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra in this context as she has no involvement in the matter,” the lawyer emphasized.
The investigation revolves around allegations that Raj Kundra was involved in the distribution of pornographic content through mobile applications. Kundra was previously arrested in July 2021 for his alleged role in the case but was later released on bail.
This latest development reignites public and media scrutiny, but Kundra’s statement underscores his confidence that justice will ultimately prevail.
