Punjab has the highest number of human trafficking cases in the entire country. This was stated by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar today in Parliament during Question Hour, in response to a question. He informed that the Punjab government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a fact-finding committee to investigate human trafficking cases. 25 FIRs have been registered against 58 illegal travel agents in the state.
