PM Modi to Visit Ram Temples in Tamil Nadu Ahead of Ayodhya Ceremony

In a spiritual prelude to the upcoming Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to undertake a two-day visit to temples linked to Lord Ram in Tamil Nadu on January 20 and 21.

On January 20, the Prime Minister will commence his spiritual journey by participating in a program at the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli around 11 am. During the visit, he will have the opportunity to listen to scholars reciting verses from the Kamba Ramayanam, a significant Tamil literary work.

Later in the day, around 2 pm, Modi will reach Rameswaram to perform ‘darshan’ and ‘pooja’ at the Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple. Following this, he will partake in a special program called Shri Ramayana Paryana, where the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya will be recited in various languages, showcasing the cultural diversity of the nation.

In the evening, at the Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple, the Prime Minister will participate in Bhajan Sandhya, featuring devotional songs in a spiritual ambiance.

On January 21, Modi will visit the Kothandaramaswamy Temple in Dhanushkodi for darshan and pooja. Additionally, he will explore Arichal Munai, believed to be the site where the legendary Ram Setu was constructed. This location is significant as it is said to be where Vibhishana sought refuge and where Sri Rama conducted Vibhishana’s coronation according to certain legends.

The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Trichy, where the journey begins, is renowned for its architectural grandeur and historical significance, featuring prominently in ancient texts like the Puranas and Sangam era texts. The temple is dedicated to Sri Ranganatha Swamy, a reclining form of Bhagwaan Vishnu.
