Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in his election affidavit that he possesses assets totaling over ₹3 crore but does not own any land, houses, or cars. He submitted this affidavit while filing his nomination from the Varanasi constituency. According to the declaration, PM Modi’s total assets amount to ₹3.02 crore, primarily consisting of a fixed deposit valued at ₹2.86 crore with the State Bank of India. Additionally, he holds ₹52,920 in cash and maintains bank accounts in Gandhinagar and Varanasi with a combined balance of ₹80,304.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister has invested ₹9.12 lakh in National Savings Certificates and possesses four gold rings valued at ₹2.68 lakh. His income increased from ₹11.14 lakh in 2018-19 to ₹23.56 lakh in 2022-23. Regarding his education, PM Modi disclosed that he completed his Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University in 1978 and his Master of Arts from Gujarat University in 1983. He affirmed that there are no pending criminal cases against him.
Expressing his sentiments after filing his nomination from Varanasi, where he is seeking a third term as MP, the Prime Minister remarked, “I am overwhelmed and emotional. I did not even realize how 10 years passed under the shade of your affection. ‘Aaj Maa Ganga ne mujhe god le liya hai’ (today, Maa Ganga has adopted me).”
Varanasi is scheduled to vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha election on June 1.
