‘Papa’s in the Drum’: Meerut Merchant Navy Officer’s Daughter’s Startling Remark to Neighbours After Murder

The brutal murder of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput in Meerut has sent shockwaves across the country. His wife, Muskan (27), and her lover, Sahil (25), have been arrested and remanded to 14-day judicial custody after confessing to the crime.

In a chilling revelation, Saurabh’s mother claimed that his six-year-old daughter might have witnessed the crime. According to the neighbors, the young girl had told them, “Papa is in the drum.”

Saurabh’s mother, while speaking to the media, stated, “She must have seen something; otherwise, why would she say that?” She further alleged that after committing the crime, Muskan went on a trip, leaving Saurabh’s body locked in a room.

The crime came to light when the landlord asked the couple to vacate the premises. During the move, laborers struggled to lift a drum inside the house. When questioned, Muskan allegedly dismissed it as household junk. However, when the lid accidentally opened, a foul smell emerged, leading the laborers to alert the police.

Adding to the shocking details, Saurabh’s mother accused Muskan’s mother of being aware of the crime beforehand. “She knew everything but pretended otherwise. Instead of informing the authorities, she consulted a lawyer and went to court,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, Saurabh’s sister revealed that Muskan had been missing for five days before the murder and had an extramarital affair. “She had already run away once and stayed with another man for days. I don’t know how they tricked my brother and took all his money,” she alleged.

Saurabh, a resident of Brahmpuri’s Indra Nagar Phase 2, was reported missing on March 4, prompting a police investigation. Authorities later detained Muskan and Sahil on March 18. The couple allegedly stabbed Saurabh to death, dismembered his body, and sealed the remains in a drum filled with cement.

As the accused were being taken to court, a group of lawyers attacked them, highlighting the public outrage over the heinous crime.
