The Pakistani Parliament has amended the constitution to make Army Chief Asim Munir the head of all three armed forces. He will now be appointed the country’s first Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). This position will be similar to India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). This new position has been created to enable the Army, Navy, and Air Force to work more closely together.
