Another Pakistani TikTok influencer, Imsha Rehman, is facing public scrutiny after a private video of hers leaked online, sparking controversy and drawing widespread backlash. The video, which shows Rehman in a compromising situation, has circulated across social media platforms and messaging apps, mirroring a recent incident involving fellow TikTok star Minahil Malik.
Rehman addressed the viral video indirectly through her TikTok bio, which read, “Jab tak video viral hai maine ne ID off kar di hai” (“Till the time video is viral, I have deactivated my account”). Following the leak, she deactivated her TikTok and Instagram accounts to avoid further backlash. It remains unclear who initially leaked the video, but as with Malik’s case, accusations have surfaced, with some alleging the video was shared intentionally to gain attention and followers.
In October, Malik faced a similar incident when an intimate video of her with her boyfriend went viral. Like Rehman, Malik was accused by some of deliberately releasing the video as a publicity stunt. The incident stirred debates online, with Pakistani actor Mishi Khan openly criticizing Malik. Khan condemned the spread of vulgarity, likening it to a scene from the Bollywood film Heroine, in which an actress leaked an explicit video to boost her fame. She expressed disappointment, writing, “Shameful to see these influencers stooping to the lowest level for fame & disgracing their families, parents & the society. They should be banned from using social media.”
In response, Malik addressed her followers with a farewell statement on Instagram, saying, “It was not easy for me but I’m done. It’s hard to say goodbye. No fights. Spread love. I’m leaving. I will miss you. I love you. Take care.”
Rehman’s incident has reignited the debate on privacy, consent, and the impact of viral scandals in the world of social media fame. Many social media users have voiced concerns about the personal costs of digital fame and the boundaries that influencers must navigate between personal privacy and public exposure.
