A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death at a restaurant in Vardmaan Mall at Pitampura in outer Delhi while he was celebrating his birthday with his friends.
Six people, including the restaurant owner, are being held by the police, who claim to have obtained the CCTV footage of the incident.

The police said that the man was identified as Jatin, a local of Budh Vihar, and that his friends had also been hurt while attempting to save him.

Everything began because of a miscommunication with the restaurant staff. A fight broke out between the employees and Jatin, who was later stabbed in the chest. When his friends Varad and Prashan intervened, they also got hurt, according to a senior police officer.

The police say that at 6.30 a.m. on Wednesday, they received a PCR call from B M Hospital regarding a man who had been admitted there with serious injuries.

“A police team comprising ACP Mangolpuri and SHO of Mangolpuri hurried to the scene as soon as they received the call. Preliminary investigation indicated an accident, but more investigation showed that it was a dispute at a hotel,” the officer stated.
