Anvi Kamdar, a 27-year-old Mumbai-based chartered accountant and social media influencer, tragically died after falling into a gorge while filming a video at Maharashtra’s Raigad district. Kamdar, known for her popular reels on social media, was on a monsoon outing with seven friends when the incident occurred near the Kumbhe waterfall in Mangaon.
The unfortunate event took place on Tuesday when Kamdar, a resident of Mulund in Mumbai, visited the picturesque waterfall amid the ongoing rains. While capturing the scenic surroundings on video, she slipped and fell into the 300-foot-deep gorge.
Upon being alerted by her friends, local police and rescuers promptly arrived at the scene. Kamdar was rushed to the Mangaon Taluka Government Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment, according to a police official from the Mangaon police station.
Kamdar, a chartered accountant by profession, gained fame and a significant following on social media for her engaging and creative reels. Her untimely death has left her fans and the online community in shock and mourning.
Authorities have urged visitors to exercise caution while enjoying monsoon outings and to prioritize safety over capturing moments, especially in areas with treacherous terrain.
