    Mumbai: 6 Dead, 49 Injured As Bus Rams Into Pedestrians And Vehicles In Kurla

    At least six people were killed, and 49 others were injured when a bus ran into pedestrians and vehicles in Mumbai’s Kurla area on Monday night, according to police reports.

    The incident occurred around 9:45 pm, when the driver of a Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) bus (Route 332) lost control. The bus struck several vehicles and pedestrians before crashing into a housing society’s wall. The bus was traveling from Kurla Station to Andheri when the crash happened. Chaos unfolded as the bus hit people in its path and continued until it finally stopped after hitting the wall.

    The victims have been identified as Kannis Fatima Ansari, Shivam Kashyap, Afreen Abdul Salim Shah, and Anam Shaikh.

    On Tuesday, a forensic team arrived at the scene of the crash.

    Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Ganesh Gawde told reporters, “In Kurla, the BEST bus lost control and hit several vehicles. The injured are being treated at hospitals. The bus driver has been taken into custody, and an inquiry is underway.”

    Local residents quickly rushed the injured to Bhabha Hospital, and emergency services, including police and fire teams, responded promptly.

    More than 45 people were injured, with some still undergoing treatment in nearby medical facilities.

    CCTV footage from the scene shows the bus speeding and people scrambling to avoid danger.

    The bus driver has been detained for questioning, and police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. A case has been filed.
