Modi Takes a Dig at Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi Defeat, Accuses ‘Yuvraj’ of Election-centric Kerala Focus

In a fiery speech at a public meeting in Kattakada, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a direct swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, dubbing him the “Yuvraj” (crown prince) of the grand old party. Without naming Gandhi, Modi lambasted him for allegedly neglecting the issues and interests of the people of Kerala while seeking their votes.

Highlighting Gandhi’s inability to protect his family bastion, a veiled reference to the loss of Amethi, Modi questioned the Congress leader’s commitment to Kerala, where he holds a parliamentary seat in Wayanad. Accusing Gandhi of only showing interest in Kerala during elections, Modi criticized him for not addressing ground-level issues in the state.

The Prime Minister didn’t spare the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress, questioning their credibility and trustworthiness in Kerala politics. He pointed out their contradictory alliances, citing the example of their alliance in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, despite fighting each other in Thiruvananthapuram.

Modi also took aim at the law and order situation in Kerala, highlighting instances of political killings and crimes against women. Blaming the ineffective rule of the Congress and Left over the years, he promised to ensure the safety and security of the coastal community, pledging to safeguard their livelihoods and ensure a dignified life for them.

Turning his attention to corruption, Modi criticized the Left government over issues like gold smuggling and cooperative bank scams. He accused corrupt individuals of forming alliances to thwart him but asserted his resolve to tackle corruption head-on.
