MK’s A Raja Declares “We Are Enemies of Ram”; BJP Calls Out INDIA Bloc’s Silence

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Member of Parliament A Raja has stirred a hornet’s nest with his inflammatory comments, igniting a firestorm of controversy across political circles. Raja’s remarks, which targeted Hindu beliefs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and questioned the idea of India as a nation, have drawn sharp criticism from opposing factions.

Addressing the crowd during an event commemorating the 71st birthday of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on March 3 in Coimbatore, Raja made disparaging remarks about Hindu sentiments, particularly targeting the chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata.” He brazenly stated, “Tamil Nadu won’t accept Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata,” asserting that the people of his state are “enemies of Ram.”

Furthermore, Raja launched a scathing attack on Hindu mythology, expressing disbelief in the Ramayana and Lord Ram, while mocking the narrative of brotherhood depicted in the epic. His remarks, garnered widespread condemnation from various quarters.

“If you say this is the God. If this is your Jai Sri Ram, if this is your Bharat Mata Ki Jai, we will never accept that Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata. Tamil Nadu won’t accept. You go and tell, we’re enemies of Ram,” Raja said.

Raja didn’t stop there; he also aimed his verbal assaults at Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of facilitating corporate interests at the expense of the common populace and neglecting regions affected by ethnic riots, particularly Manipur. Raja challenged Modi to address corruption allegations against him, adding fuel to the already blazing political fire.

Additionally, the DMK MP questioned the very concept of India as a nation, echoing sentiments previously expressed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He referenced the preamble to justify his claims, asserting that India is not a nation but merely a subcontinent.

In response to Raja’s contentious remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wasted no time in condemning his statements. Amit Malviya, BJP’s Media Cell In-charge, lambasted the DMK for its silence on the matter, questioning the tacit approval of such divisive rhetoric by Congress and other members of the I.N.D.I Alliance.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Malviya shared excerpts from Raja’s speech, denouncing the “hate speeches” emanating from the DMK camp and calling for accountability from its leadership.

“The hate speeches from DMK’s stable continue unabated. After Udhayanidhi Stalin’s call to annihilate Sanatan Dharma, it is now A Raja who calls for balkanisation of India, derides Bhagwan Ram, makes disparaging comments on Manipuris, and questions the idea of India, as a nation. Congress and other I.N.D.I Alliance partners are quiet. Rahul Gandhi, their putative Prime Ministerial candidate’s silence is eloquent.”, Malviya wrote on X.
