In an extraordinary turn of events, a 36-year-old woman from Zhejiang province in eastern China recently discovered she was eight months pregnant after years of struggling to conceive. The woman, identified as Gong, had been undergoing various fertility treatments, including IVF, but had faced numerous setbacks.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post, Gong and her husband had tried multiple methods to start a family. However, doctors advised her to prioritize weight loss before continuing any further treatments. Feeling disheartened, Gong believed her dream of becoming a mother was slipping away.

In early December last year, Gong sought medical advice after experiencing numbness in one of her hands. She visited a local clinic where a routine blood pressure check revealed dangerously high levels. During the consultation, the attending doctor inquired about her menstrual cycle and discovered that Gong had missed several periods.

Following the doctor’s advice, Gong underwent an ultrasound scan, which revealed a surprising and heartwarming discovery — she was carrying a healthy 8.5-month-old foetus weighing approximately 2 kilograms.

Given her high blood pressure, medical professionals acted swiftly to ensure both mother and baby remained safe. Within four hours of the ultrasound, doctors performed a successful surgery to deliver the baby.
