Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed visible frustration during the NATO Summit’s third day as delays pushed back scheduled proceedings. Meloni, alongside other world leaders, waited for US President Joe Biden and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to begin the day’s sessions, which commenced approximately 40 minutes after the scheduled 10 am start time.
Witnesses noted Meloni’s exasperation, including moments where she rolled her eyes and gestured towards her wrist, indicating the delay.

The incident mirrored a previous occurrence at the G7 meeting in Italy, where Biden also delayed proceedings, prompting light-hearted remarks from Meloni about punctuality.
The delay in opening the NATO Summit sessions was part of a broader pattern, with Biden also departing the White House later than planned earlier in the day. His solo press conference was consequently rescheduled for later in the evening.
