Man Orders ₹39,990 Camera from Amazon, Receives Package Without It: ‘Never Ordering Again’

A customer, identified as Shubham 2.0, has reported a troubling incident involving his recent Amazon order, where a GoPro Hero 13 Special Bundle worth ₹39,990 was allegedly missing from the package upon delivery. The package, which also contained a Syvro S11 tripod (₹999) and Telesen ND Filters (₹2,812), was collected by the guard at Shubham’s society before being opened at his home. However, upon inspection, only the tripod and filters were found, while the expensive camera was missing.

In a detailed post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Shubham described the situation, stating, “When the package arrived, my watchman collected it, and once I reached home, I opened it to find the entire GoPro missing.” He immediately contacted Amazon customer care, who informed him that the product was marked as delivered, and no further action could be taken.

Despite receiving a promise of a resolution by February 4, 2025, Shubham claims that when he followed up on the issue, customer care reiterated that the product had been delivered, leaving him frustrated and with no resolution. Adding to the suspicion, Shubham highlighted that the packaging seemed tampered with. According to him, the sticker on the parcel indicated a weight of 1.28 kg, while the parcel he received weighed only 650 grams, suggesting the GoPro had been removed prior to delivery.

Shubham also shared his experience of the incident on social media, tagging Amazon and urging them to investigate the matter. “Please look into this,” he wrote, requesting action.

As the incident gained traction online, other users shared similar experiences of missing or tampered deliveries, offering advice and warning against buying expensive items online. One user suggested opting for open delivery when purchasing costly products, while another questioned whether Shubham had recorded the unboxing process, as this could serve as evidence in such cases.

This incident has sparked discussions about the risks of online shopping, especially for high-value items, with many expressing their concerns over the security of deliveries and urging more robust measures to prevent theft and fraud.

Amazon has yet to respond publicly to the incident.
