Man Murders Wife in Bengaluru, Hides Body in Suitcase, Then Informs Neighbor Before Fleeing

Bengaluru police have uncovered a shocking murder case in the city’s Doddakammanahalli area, where the body of a woman, identified as Gouri Anil Sambre, was discovered inside a suitcase at her residence.

Gouri was allegedly murdered by her husband, Rajendra Khedekar, both of whom were originally from Maharashtra and had recently moved to Bengaluru for work.

According to police sources, Rajendra fled the house after committing the crime on Wednesday. Following his escape, he reportedly called another resident of the building and confessed to the murder. The resident then alerted the building owner, who immediately informed the Bengaluru South-East Police Control Room around 5:30 PM on Thursday.

Police arrived at the couple’s locked residence and forced entry, where they found Gouri’s body in the bathroom, packed inside a suitcase. Officials stated that while the body was intact, it bore severe injuries, particularly to the neck and stomach. The remains have been sent for a post-mortem examination.

“Rajendra and Gouri had been married for two years and had moved to Bengaluru last month. He worked as an IT Project Manager, while she was a housewife searching for a job. After the murder, Rajendra fled, but we have arrested him,” said Sara Fatima, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru South-East Division.

A case of murder has been registered at Hulimavu Police Station, and an investigation is underway to determine the motive. The accused was traced to Pune using call detail records and was arrested with assistance from the local police. A team from Hulimavu Police Station is now traveling to Pune to take him into custody and bring him back to Bengaluru, where he will be presented before a local court on Friday.
