A man from Hyderabad is accused of murdering his wife and attempting to conceal the crime by dismembering her body and boiling the remains in a pressure cooker. Guru Murthy, 45, a former soldier currently employed as a security guard at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is said to have confessed to the police, although his disturbing account has yet to be substantiated. Venkata Madhavi, 35, was reported missing by her family on January 16.
During the investigation, the police developed suspicions regarding her husband. Upon interrogation, he recounted the details of the alleged crime. Police Inspector Nagaraju stated, “The parents filed a missing person report with us. The husband accompanied them. Our suspicions were raised, leading us to question him further. He ultimately confessed to the crime.” According to reports, Guru Murthy told the police that he dismembered his wife’s body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker. He allegedly separated the bones, ground them with a pestle, and boiled them again. After several days of cooking the flesh and bones, he purportedly packaged the remains and disposed of them in a lake. The veracity of these claims is currently under investigation.
The couple is the parent of two children, one son and one daughter. It has been reported that they often engaged in disputes. The circumstances surrounding the alleged murder remain unclear.
