Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Father Over Property Dispute in Northeast Delhi

A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly beating his father to death in a dispute over property in northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagri area. The accused, identified as Arun (35), was reportedly intoxicated and had bloodstains on his clothes at the time of his arrest, according to police officials.

The incident came to light following a PCR call received around 2 PM, prompting a police team to rush to the scene and initiate an investigation. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim, Kehar Singh (65), had been living with his son Arun, who was described as an alcoholic by a senior police officer.

Arun, who works as a nursing orderly at GTB Hospital, had a history of absenteeism from his job, the officer noted. The investigation revealed that frequent altercations occurred between Kehar and Arun, primarily over Arun’s insistence that his father transfer all his property to him.

According to a complaint lodged by Kehar’s elder son, Ram Bahadur, the father and son had another argument on Wednesday, which quickly escalated. In a fit of rage, Arun allegedly struck his father with a stick and bricks, resulting in Kehar’s death on the spot.

“The accused has been arrested,” the senior officer confirmed. “Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams have inspected the crime scene, and further investigation is underway.”
