After nearly two decades of silence and a much-publicized feud, Bollywood stars Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat have finally reconciled. The duo, who shot to fame with their sizzling onscreen chemistry in the 2004 hit Murder, had not spoken for years following a misunderstanding during the film’s promotions. Now, with the feud behind them, Mallika Sherawat expressed her excitement about the possibility of working with Hashmi again.
In a recent conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Mallika reflected on their past tensions, acknowledging the immaturity of their fallout. “Of course, we were so young, silly, and stupid. Ego comes in the way,” she admitted, adding that outside influences in the industry exacerbated the situation. Despite their disagreements, Mallika spoke fondly of Emraan, praising him as a “wonderful human being” and recalling their intimate scenes during Murder. “He made me feel safe, and really good about myself,” she said, commending his professionalism.
The Murder actress, now looking back with nostalgia, shared her admiration for Emraan’s personal and professional journey, particularly in light of his son’s battle with cancer. “I would be very thrilled to work with him again,” Mallika said, emphasizing that she holds no grudges and admires his resilience.
Their fallout first became public in the early 2000s, with Mallika revealing in a 2021 interview that she and Emraan stopped speaking after Murder wrapped up. In the same year, Emraan further fueled the speculation of their animosity during his appearance on Koffee With Karan, where he controversially labeled his kiss with Mallika as his “worst on-screen kiss,” contrasting it with his more positive experience in Murder 2 with Jacqueline Fernandez.
With their past misunderstandings now in the rearview mirror, fans of the duo are hopeful that they will reunite onscreen for another collaboration. Given their cult following and the lasting impact of Murder, the possibility of another project featuring Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat is sure to generate considerable buzz in Bollywood.
