The upcoming Maharashtra election has set the stage for a high-profile contest in the Worli constituency, featuring Aaditya Thackeray of the Shiv Sena and Milind Deora from the Indian National Congress. Both candidates bring distinct political legacies and strategies to this crucial seat in Mumbai.
Aaditya Thackeray, the son of Uddhav Thackeray and a prominent figure in Maharashtra politics, is known for his youthful energy and commitment to urban development. Since his previous term as an MLA, he has focused on issues such as environmental sustainability, infrastructure improvement, and youth empowerment. His campaign is expected to emphasize the Shiv Sena’s historical connection to the region and its vision for Mumbai’s future, appealing to a diverse electorate that values both heritage and progress.
On the other hand, Milind Deora, a former MP and seasoned politician, aims to leverage his experience and established presence in the constituency. Deora’s campaign will likely center on economic recovery post-pandemic, social welfare programs, and enhancing public services. His focus on addressing local issues, combined with the Congress’s broader national agenda, seeks to resonate with voters who prioritize governance and accountability.
On Thursday Aaditya Thackeray took out a road show and offered his prayers at a temple before filing his nomination papers from the Worli Assembly seat. During the Lok Sabha elections, Worli seat saw just 6500 lead to Shiv Sena (UBT) despite it being Aaditya Thackeray’s bastion. After filing his nomination, Aaditya Thackeray said that people of Worli will elect him again and that he was sure about it.
