Late Night Operation Leads to FIR Against Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune-Bengaluru

A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru, a pub co-owned by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, for operating and serving customers beyond the city’s 1 am closing deadline. The establishment was allegedly found open at 1:20 am, according to the FIR registered at the Cubbon Park Police Station.

The incident occurred on the night of July 6th when a sub-inspector, who was on night patrol, received a tip-off about One8 Commune’s late-night operations. Upon reaching the venue located on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex on Kasturba Road, the sub-inspector discovered the pub serving customers well past the permissible time limit. Consequently, an FIR was registered against the manager for the violation.

This incident is not isolated, as official sources confirmed similar actions against three other pubs in the area. Authorities are cracking down on establishments flouting the city’s operational guidelines, particularly regarding closing times.

One8 Commune, launched in December of last year, offers patrons a unique dining experience with views of Cubbon Park and the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Bengaluru branch is one of several outlets across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. Virat Kohli, a prominent figure in Bengaluru’s sporting scene due to his long-standing association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL), co-owns the venture.
