    King Charles Diagnosed With Cancer: Buckingham Palace

    Britain’s King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and will postpone public-facing duties, Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday.

    Following an enlarged prostate surgical procedure last month, King Charles, 75, had to stay in the hospital for three nights as a separate matter came to light. According to the palace, tests had revealed a type of cancer.

    “An additional matter of concern was identified during The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostatic enlargement. A type of cancer has been identified by further diagnostic testing.

    “Today, His Majesty began a regimen of routine medical treatments. Physicians have advised him to delay engagements with the public during this time. His Majesty will conduct regular State business and file official documents during this time,” the Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

    “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer”, the statement read further.

    Prince Harry, whol ives in the US, plans to head back to Britain to visit his father Charles III following the king’s cancer diagnosis, the Press Association news agency reported on Monday.
