The Karnataka High Court has sought a response from the government on making Kannada language study compulsory. Three weeks have been given for this. The court has also issued notices to the state and central government. A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in 2023 against making Kannada study compulsory in CBSC and CISCE schools in the state.
