Kapil Sharma Files ED Complaint Against Car Designer Dilip Chhabria

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been informed by stand-up comedian and actor Kapil Sharma that car designer Dilip Chhabria, who is suspected of defrauding multiple celebrities, attempted to place the blame for the non-delivery of a customized vehicle he had ordered on him and instead used illicit means to obtain money from him.
Mohammed Hamid, Sharma’s authorized representative, provided a statement that the ED recorded for inclusion in the chargesheet it filed against Chhabria in connection with a money laundering investigation.

On Wednesday, a special PMLA court overseeing the case took cognizance of the chargesheet and summoned Chhabria and the other six accused parties. on February 26.

Three FIRs against the accused, including one that Sharma filed for cheating, form the basis of the ED case.

The actor’s representative told the ED that in December 2016, Sharma—the only owner of K9 Productions—had contacted Chhabria about buying a customized vanity van.

Consequently, he said, a contract was signed in March 2017 for the delivery of a customized vanity van for ₹ 4.5 crore (excl. taxes) between K9 Productions and Dilip Chhabria Design Private Limited (DCDPL).

Hamid argued that neither the promised vanity van nor any financial reimbursement had been given to Sharma by DCDPL.

Hamid, who had visited the car designer’s Pune facility to examine the vanity van, inquired about the reason behind the delay in work and Chhabria replied that all the interior materials had been bought and stored in a warehouse. Chhabria discussed his precarious financial situation and his need for money, according to the actor’s agent.

Later, Chhabria asked Sharma for the money to pay for the delivery of the car in an additional quotation worth ₹ 54,20,800.
