Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut recently took to Instagram to appreciate the women of Himachal Pradesh, hailing their beauty, resilience, and hard-working nature. Sharing a photograph featuring herself alongside Himachal actresses Preity Zinta, Yami Gautam, and Pratibha Ranta, Kangana highlighted the unsung contributions of women in her home state.
“#peopleofhimachal When I go to Himachal and see our women equally or better looking than us work tirelessly in the fields no insta no reels raising cattle and making the ends meet. I feel they can definitely do with some hype. #himachaligenes #himachaliwomen,” she wrote in her Instagram story.
Kangana also celebrated Christmas at her Himachal home this year, sharing glimpses of her celebration on social media. She treated herself to a homemade dessert, posting, “Merry Christmas everyone, how are you all celebrating? I made gajar ka halwa for myself,” while cozying up on a couch.

On the professional front, Kangana is gearing up for the release of her ambitious political drama Emergency. Written, directed, and co-produced by Kangana, the film features her in the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, capturing the turbulent era of the Emergency imposed from 1975 to 1977.
The film, which was initially scheduled for release on September 6, faced delays due to clearance issues with the CBFC. It is now set to hit theaters on January 17, 2024. Apart from Kangana, the star-studded cast includes Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman, and Mahima Chaudhry in key roles.
With Emergency, Kangana aims to offer a gripping take on one of India’s most controversial political periods, blending history with drama.
