Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai was sworn in as the 52nd Chief Justice of India today. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Justice Gavai as CJI. The term of the current CJI Sanjeev Khanna ended on 13 May. Justice Gavai’s name was in the seniority list after CJI Khanna. Therefore, Justice Khanna put his name forward.
