Social media influencer Radha has sparked debate by stating that Dhanashree Verma should have sought ₹40 crore in alimony from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal instead of the reported ₹4.75 crore. As per Bollywood Shaadis, Radha shared her views through an Instagram video, where she defended Dhanashree and criticized those shaming her online.
In her statement, Radha questioned the hypocrisy surrounding financial expectations in relationships. “If people are concerned about gold digging, why didn’t Chahal use his personality and kind nature to attract a partner? Why is it acceptable for wealthy men to use their money to win over women, but not for women to benefit from their looks? Considering the harassment Dhanashree is facing, ₹4 crore is too little. It should have been at least ₹40 crore,” she argued.
Reports earlier this week revealed that Chahal had agreed to pay ₹4.75 crore as permanent alimony to Dhanashree, with ₹2.37 crore already paid. The delay in settling the remaining amount was flagged by the family court as non-compliance.
The alimony settlement triggered a backlash from Chahal’s supporters, with many taking to social media to criticize Dhanashree. While some accused her of seeking financial gain, others questioned her integrity.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma, who married in 2020, have now officially parted ways after 18 months of separation. On March 20, their divorce was finalized. Confirming the court’s decision, Chahal’s lawyer, Nitin Kumar Gupta, told ANI, “The court has granted the decree of divorce, and both parties are no longer husband and wife.”
