External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar received notable praise from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil. Upon their introduction, Subianto remarked to Jaishankar, “I know you, you are very famous,” drawing a chuckle from PM Modi.

The meeting marked the first interaction between PM Modi and President Subianto since his election, focusing on enhancing ties in trade, health, and security. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of India-Indonesia diplomatic relations.

Separately, a video of Subianto enthusiastically congratulating Donald Trump on his U.S. re-election recently gained attention. In it, he praised Trump while recalling his American military training, with Trump lauding Subianto’s leadership in Indonesia and fluent English.
