The Income Tax Department on Monday extended the last date for filing income tax returns (ITR) for 2025-26 to September 16. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) issued a circular late night. Earlier the deadline was till September 15. So far this year, 7.3 crore people have filed income tax.
