The Madhya Pradesh woman filed for divorce from her husband ten days after the couple returned from their “honeymoon trip” to Ayodhya and Varanasi.

In her family court divorce petition, she claimed that her husband had promised her a honeymoon in Goa, but had instead taken her to Ayodhya and Varanasi.
The bizarre case made its way to the Bhopal family court on January 19, as the Free Press Journal reported.

According to the woman, her spouse receives a good salary from the IT company where he works. She claimed that since she is a successful working woman as well, taking their honeymoon overseas was not a huge concern.

She claimed that her husband insisted on seeing a location in India and would not take her abroad, even in the absence of any financial constraints.

She claimed he explained to her that he needed to look after his parents, and they decided to spend their honeymoon in South India or Goa rather than overseas.

However, it is purported that he reserved flights to Ayodhya and Varanasi without informing her.

She claimed that just one day prior to the trip, her husband had notified her that their plans to travel to Ayodhya had been altered because his mother had wanted to see the city before the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.

Although she had not opposed the trip at the time, after they got back she went to the family court to file for divorce from her husband.

Meanwhile, her husband said that his wife was just making a big fuss. The couple is currently receiving counseling at the Bhopal family court.
