Hema Malini Takes Holy Dip at Triveni Sangam | VIDEO

Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh on the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya. Expressing her gratitude, she said, “I am feeling great. I have never had such an experience before. Today is a very special day, and I am fortunate to take the holy dip.”

Hema Malini also visited the Prabhu Premi Sangh Kumbh Camp, where she met Junapeethadhishwar Mahamandaleshwar Acharya Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, also known as Pujya Prabhushri Ji, and discussed spirituality. Speaking about her experience, she added, “It is my good fortune. I feel very happy that, among the millions of people who have gathered here, I too got an opportunity to take a holy dip.”

However, the occasion was marred by a stampede-like situation as enormous crowds thronged the ghats. Officials confirmed several casualties following the chaos that unfolded on Wednesday. Many social media users raised concerns, suggesting that authorities should restrict celebrities and dignitaries from attending the snan until the crowd stabilizes.

In response to the situation, the Akharas decided to call off their traditional ‘Amrit Snan’ for Mauni Amavasya, though devotees continued to take dips at Sangam and other ghats in the Mela area. The Amrit Snan holds immense significance during the Maha Kumbh, attracting nearly 10 crore pilgrims. This year’s Mauni Amavasya was particularly special due to the rare celestial event ‘Triveni Yog,’ occurring after 144 years, adding to the spiritual significance of the day.

Around 2 am, sirens from ambulances and police vehicles pierced through the chants of mantras and shlokas resonating across the Kumbh Mela. The injured were swiftly transported to the central hospital in the Mela area, where concerned relatives and senior officials also gathered.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, urging devotees to follow safety protocols as the Maha Kumbh continues to witness an unprecedented influx of pilgrims.
