Heavy rains in West Bengal triggered a landslide in Darjeeling. According to initial reports, the landslide occurred on a slope along the Mirik-Sukhiapokhari road. Several houses were destroyed. Thirteen people have died so far. Debris on the road following the landslide is hampering rescue efforts. Vehicle movement and communication have been disrupted in several nearby areas.
