Heavy Rain, Storm In Dubai;28 India Flights Cancelled

The financial hub of the Middle East, Dubai, has been rendered immobile by intense rain and storms that have resulted in extensive flooding throughout the arid nation.
Flights have been delayed or diverted due to the record rainfall, and cars have been left stranded on flooded roads.

Travelers have been advised against visiting Dubai Airport, the busiest airport in the world for international travel, “unless absolutely necessary”.

“There is still delay and diverting of flights. In extremely difficult circumstances, we are making every effort to resume operations as soon as possible,” a Dubai Airports representative stated.

With more rain and storms predicted for today, the weather agency has diverted, delayed, or canceled over 500 flights, both inbound and outbound.

Thirteen flights to India and roughly fifteen flights to Dubai have been canceled by the authorities.

Due to the severe weather in Dubai, which has caused travel chaos, the main airline in Dubai, Emirates Airline, announced that it is stopping all passenger check-ins for the day. “Our teams at Emirates are putting in a lot of effort to resume our regularly scheduled operations.

Signature retail establishments Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates experienced flooding, with water up to the ankles at Metro stations. According to officials, because stations on the Red and Green lines are undergoing maintenance, metro trains are currently running on designated routes.

The storm’s effects were not limited to Dubai; similar scenes of flooding and chaos were seen throughout the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, a neighboring country.

With more storms, including hail, predicted for today, schools have been closed and government employees now have more remote work options.
