Haryana INLD Chief Shot Dead, His SUV Was Ambushed By Gunmen

Former MLA and president of the Haryana Indian National Lok Dal, Nafe Singh Rathi, was shot and killed on Sunday evening in Jhajjar by unknown gunmen who ambushed the SUV he was driving. Another party leader who was accompanying him was also killed, and two more suffered serious injuries.
The men arrived in a car and started firing while Rathi and his companions were inside. The former MLA was pronounced dead upon arrival at the nearby Brahm Shakti Sanjivani Hospital, where the injured were hurriedly taken for medical attention.

Rakesh Sihag, the head of the INLD’s media cell, confirmed Nafe Singh Rathi’s death in the shootout.

Nafe Singh Rathi was an MLA for the INLD in Bahadurgarh where the attack took place. Following the startling attack, the state police are on high alert. Numerous teams have been dispatched promptly to the crime scene to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Police are examining CCTV footage from multiple nearby locations to ascertain the attacker’s path of entry and subsequent escape route.

Meanwhile, INLD leader Abhay Chautala has claimed that six months ago, Nafe Singh Rathi gave in writing that his life was in danger but “no security was provided to him”.

“Not a single offender in this case will escape punishment. In expressing his condolences for the loss of Nafe Singh Rathi, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, “Police have been instructed to arrest the accused as soon as possible and take strictest action.”
