On Friday, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Shashi Ranjan Parmar broke down in tears during an interview after he was excluded from the party’s candidate list for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. In the video, Parmar is seen struggling with his emotions when asked about his name being left off the list for the Bhiwani and Tosham constituencies.
“I had expected my name to be on the list,” he says before choking up and crying. Despite the interviewer’s efforts to console him, reminding him that the party and his constituency will recognize his worth, Parmar continues to sob. “I assured people that my name was being considered. What do I do now? I feel helpless,” he laments.
The interviewer urges him to stay strong for the party workers and the voters who supported him, saying, “Netaji, aap honsla rakhein” (Sir, please stay strong). Parmar, in a hoarse voice, responds, “What is happening to me… the way I have been treated… I am in so much pain. What kind of decisions are being made?”
Haryana’s elections are scheduled for October 5, with results to be announced on October 8. The deadline for filing nominations is September 12, with papers being scrutinized on September 13. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until September 16.
