Salman Khan, known for his larger-than-life persona on screen, has equally intriguing stories from his past, as recalled by close friends. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, actor Aasif Sheikh shared an amusing anecdote from Salman’s younger days, offering a glimpse of the superstar’s carefree attitude.
The incident occurred in 1998 while the duo was shooting for the film Bandhan. Aasif reminisced about a drive in Salman’s Maruti Esteem, where the Tiger Zinda Hai actor nonchalantly drove on both the road and the footpath. Concerned they might get into trouble, Aasif warned Salman, “We’ll get caught!” But Salman, unfazed, responded, “Even if we do, don’t worry, you’re with Salman Khan.”
However, their worries materialized when a traffic cop pulled them over. In a twist, the officer failed to recognize Salman, much to the actor’s disbelief. According to Aasif, Salman was taken aback and said, “He didn’t recognize me!” Aasif even joked that Salman should take off his shirt to jog the cop’s memory, referencing Salman’s iconic shirtless scenes.
In more serious news, following the recent murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, security for Salman Khan has been significantly increased. The Mumbai Police have now assigned Y-plus security to the actor, providing him with an escort vehicle and a trained constable skilled in handling weapons. This heightened security includes an escort vehicle that follows Salman’s official car and Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) personnel stationed outside his residences in Bandra and Panvel. On the professional front, Salman Khan is set to star in AR Murugadoss’ upcoming film Sikandar, which has already generated considerable anticipation among his fans.
