Gangster Anmol Bishnoi Taken into Custody in California Amid International Manhunt

Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed criminal Lawrence Bishnoi, has been taken into custody in California, United States, according to intelligence sources. This development follows the issuance of a non-bailable warrant against him earlier this month.

Anmol Bishnoi is a wanted figure in numerous high-profile cases, including the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the shooting incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, and the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch had recently initiated the process for his extradition to India.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to Anmol’s arrest. He faces two NIA-registered cases and 18 additional criminal charges, including allegations of providing logistical support and weapons in Moose Wala’s murder.

Anmol, who fled India last year using a fake passport, was previously believed to be hiding in Canada. Intelligence reports later linked him to criminal activities spanning international borders.

Anmol Bishnoi allegedly claimed responsibility via social media for the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in April. Two bikers opened fire outside the actor’s house, and the Mumbai Police later identified the attackers as members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Investigators allege that Anmol directly coordinated the attack.

In the Baba Siddique murder case, Mumbai Police revealed that Anmol provided the shooters with photographs of Siddique and his son, Zeeshan. The suspects confessed that Anmol orchestrated the attack to instill fear in Mumbai.

The arrest in California marks a significant step in curbing the growing influence of cross-border crime syndicates. Indian authorities are now expected to expedite the legal and diplomatic process to bring Anmol Bishnoi to India for prosecution.

Law enforcement agencies continue their efforts to dismantle the Bishnoi gang’s network, which has been linked to a wave of violent crimes in India.
