In the Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu, a terrible accident involving four vehicles claimed the lives of at least four people. The accident, which happened in a matter of seconds and left a path of devastation on the Thoppur Ghat, also injured eight other people.
The events are depicted in CCTV footage that was taken from the scene. The footage shows a truck barreling into another truck at high speed, setting off a series of events. The truck truck goes out of control, slamming into another truck, and trapping an automobile between the two is the result.

The truck struck the railing and overturned off the bridge, while the car was instantly crushed by the impact.

Other videos from the area showed smoke billowing from the accident site as all three trucks went up in flames.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed deep sorrow over the incident and promptly announced financial assistance for the affected families. He announced a compensation of ₹ 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and ₹ 50,000 to those undergoing treatment for injuries.
