Former CJI Sanjeev Khanna had asked Justice Yashwant Verma to resign on the basis of the in-house report. On his consent, CJI Khanna wrote a letter to the President and the Prime Minister recommending the removal of Justice Verma. News agency ANI has given this information quoting sources. Earlier, ANI had reported that the central government may bring a proposal in the monsoon session of Parliament to remove Justice Verma from the post.
