Family To Hold a Small Event On Moosewala’s 2nd Death Anniversary

Even as the friends, family, and fans of well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala are fighting for justice two years after his murder, Sidhu Moosewala’s father, Balkaur Singh, announced that a small programme would be organized to commemorate the second anniversary of his death. Moosewala’s home village honored the cherished artist with statues, busts, and photos on the eve of the anniversary of his death.

Moosewala was killed in cold blood on May 29 today after his Thar jeep was boxed in and inndiscriminate firing took place killing him right at the spot.

Moosewala’s images were also featured on printed t-shirts and coffee mugs sold by a few local shops. Born on June 11, 1993, Sidhu Mooswala was initially known by the name of Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu.

Balkaur Singh announced a modest programme to mark his older son’s death anniversary. The programme is only open to close friends and family due to the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and the high temperatures. Only villagers and family members were allowed to attend, per his request.

“Miss you son Sidhu. We never forget a son like you in our whole life. You will always remain in our hearts, son. Your memory will always be there. This day is written in black letters in history. Sidhu Moose Vaal son,” read the Instagram post written in Punjabi language.

Balkaur and Charan Kaur, the parents of Sidhu Moosewala, welcomed a baby boy into their family earlier this year. On May 29, 2022, Moosewala was shot and died in Mansa.
