A Delhi resident’s attempt to order condoms discreetly through Swiggy Instamart turned into an awkward ordeal that has since gone viral on social media.
Manan Singh, who shared his experience on Reddit’s Delhi community, recounted how he ordered a pack of condoms via Swiggy Instamart while at his office. Assuming the delivery would arrive in discreet packaging, he instructed the delivery executive to leave it at the reception.
However, when Singh collected the package, he was mortified to find the condoms wrapped in a see-through pink plastic bag, visible to everyone at the reception desk.
“Swiggy Instamart ruined me!” he wrote. “Buying condoms isn’t a big deal, but I usually order them from Blinkit because they send them in a discreet brown package. This time, I tried Swiggy Instamart, thinking they’d do the same. Like an idiot, I told them to drop it off at the office reception desk.”
The incident, which Singh described as leaving him “red-faced,” sparked humorous reactions online. Some users shared similar experiences with online delivery services.
One commenter quipped, “Distribute your embarrassment to your colleagues.” Another added, “Who in the right mind would order condoms at work?”
Others warned of potential workplace repercussions, with one user stating, “Ordering condoms at the office front desk could trigger a POSH policy if someone feels uncomfortable.”
In the thread, users shared their own tales of awkward condom deliveries, including one where a landlord witnessed the delivery being photographed and another where a package was handed directly to a housemaid.
The post garnered over 8,700 upvotes and numerous comments, with many discussing the importance of discreet packaging for sensitive products. Singh’s story underscores the potential for humorous mishaps in the age of instant delivery services, where convenience can sometimes collide with embarrassment.
