Couple Seeks Premananda Maharaj’s Guidance After Losing Purity, His Response Goes Viral

In a recently viral video from a satsang, renowned saint Premanand Ji Maharaj of Vrindavan addressed a couple’s concerns about their love marriage, offering thoughtful advice on love, purity, and devotion. The interaction highlighted Maharaj’s compassionate and practical approach to contemporary issues surrounding relationships and marriages.

The man, hailing from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, opened up about his past struggles with addiction. “Radhe-Radhe Guruji. I am not worthy of sitting before you. I used to indulge in alcohol, meat, gutkha, eggs, and cigarettes. But after coming under your guidance and receiving Radha Rani’s name, all these habits have disappeared from my life,” he shared.

Premanand Maharaj acknowledged the man’s transformation and praised his strength for overcoming these vices. “You have left all these vices; you are a strong man,” the saint responded.

The man then posed a heartfelt question about his love marriage. He shared that he and his wife were in a relationship for nine years before getting married with their parents’ consent. However, he expressed regret over not maintaining purity before marriage after listening to Maharaj’s teachings.

In response, Premanand Maharaj offered a reassuring and balanced perspective. “You married the one you befriended, didn’t you? Look, you married the one you loved, and we have no complaint about that. If you transform your love into pure love and proceed on the path of devotion to God, then your love will find true meaning.”

Maharaj’s response underscored the importance of lifelong commitment and spiritual growth within a relationship. He emphasized that modern love often lacks depth and permanence. “Modern love today is often superficial. People satisfy their desires and then break up. What do you consider the body to be – a plate or a bowl? Life is about character. If you love someone, love them for a lifetime. That’s all we ask. Where you come from does not matter. You both fell in love, and that’s fine. You had physical feelings for each other, and that’s fine too. But now, maintain this love for the rest of your lives. This is Kaliyuga, and if we can preserve even this much love, it is enough.”

The saint also addressed the growing trend of live-in relationships and rising divorce rates. “You have turned the body into a toy,” he remarked. He further elaborated on the importance of stability and tolerance in marriage. “Someone told me that we aim to make India a Vishwa Guru. But how will we achieve this when our own homes are in disarray? We are unable to become the gurus of our own households, yet we aspire to lead the world.”

Touching on the issue of increasing divorces, Premanand Maharaj highlighted the need for patience and forgiveness in married life. “People are getting divorced within a year of love marriages. Is this your idea of love? If you want a happy married life, you need tolerance. If it’s your mistake, apologise; if your partner errs, forgive. That’s how life moves forward,” he advised.

Premanand Maharaj’s words resonated with many listeners, offering a message of hope and guidance in navigating modern relationships with a blend of traditional values and spiritual insights. His emphasis on lifelong love, tolerance, and character development serves as a reminder of the enduring values essential for building a strong foundation in marriage.
