Child Killed, Two Injured in Crude Bomb Explosion in West Bengal

In a devastating incident in the Pandua area of West Bengal’s Hooghly district, one child lost their life while two others sustained severe injuries after a crude bomb exploded on Monday. Reports suggest that the children, unaware of the danger, were playing with the bomb, mistaking it for a ball.

According to media sources, among the injured, one child has tragically lost their right hand due to the explosion. Eyewitnesses described a sudden loud sound near a pond where the children were playing, prompting locals to rush to the scene. Shockingly, they discovered three boys lying on the ground, victims of the blast.

The injured children were swiftly transported to Pandua hospital, where doctors, unfortunately, declared one of them deceased. The other two are currently in critical condition and have been transferred to Imambara Hospital in Chunchura for further treatment.

The timing of this tragedy coincides with an election rally scheduled to be held in the area on Monday, led by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.
