BJP’s 2nd List For LS Polls Out, Gadkari, Khattar, Piyush Goyal Get Tickets

Following a last-minute hiccup over one seat in Bihar, the BJP unveiled its second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections this evening. Several seasoned politicians are among the 72 names on the list, including Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Anurag Singh Thakur, and Piyush Goyal, who is running for office. Manohar Lal Khattar, who was removed from his position as Chief Minister of Haryana yesterday, is the other new face. Trivendra Singh Rawat and Basavaraj Bommai, two more former chief ministers, have also been put forward.
The BJP has put up two fresh candidates in Delhi: Yogendra Chandolia of North West Delhi and Harsh Malhotra of East Delhi.

Following a significant loss in the most recent assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fielding about ten new candidates in Karnataka, the only southern state where the party has significant clout.
The leader of the BJP’s youth wing, Tejasvi Surya, intends to run for office again in Bengaluru South. Pratap Simha has been replaced as the candidate for the Mysore seat by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Wadiyar of the former Mysore royal family.

In Maharashtra, the BJP has fielded Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Piyush Goyal, and former state minister Pankaja Munde. After Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra sends the maximum numbee of MPs to the Lok Sabha.

Nitin Gadkari will stand from Nagpur – the headquarters of the BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Among the eight newcomers are Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal – fielded from Mumbai North – and Pankaja Munde from Beed. All Union ministers from Maharashtra have been fielded again.

In Uttarakhand, BJP chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni has been fielded from Garhwal.
