Following the decision, Bangladesh’s interim Prime Minister, Muhammad Yunus, demanded India’s deportation of Hasina. The Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement stating that, according to the extradition treaty between India and Bangladesh, it is India’s responsibility to hand over the former Bangladeshi Prime Minister to India.
