Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher recently took to Instagram to share a cryptic note reflecting on honesty and leadership, following the BJP-led NDA’s performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. While the alliance secured a victory overall, it faced unexpected losses in key constituencies, including Faizabad, home to the famed Ram Mandir.

Kher’s note read, “Sometimes I think a honest man shouldn’t be very honest. A tree with straight bark are often cut down first. The honest man has to bear most problems in life. Despite the hurdles, he doesn’t give up his honesty. That is why he is an inspiration to crores of people.” This message appeared to resonate with many, drawing parallels to the political climate and the challenges faced by honest leaders.

Despite the setback in Faizabad, the BJP and its allies celebrated significant victories, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi retaining his seat in Varanasi and actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut winning in Mandi. Following the victory, PM Modi addressed the nation, expressing gratitude for the continued support. “People have placed their faith in NDA, for a third consecutive time! This is a historical feat in India’s history. I bow to the Janata Janardan for this affection and assure them that we will continue the good work done in the last decade to keep fulfilling the aspirations of people. I also salute all our Karyakartas for their hard work. Words will never do justice to their exceptional efforts,” Modi posted on X.

In the comments section of Kher’s post, fans expressed their support for the BJP’s performance in Uttar Pradesh and lauded Narendra Modi’s leadership. Kher also extended his congratulations to Kangana Ranaut, wishing her success in her new political journey.
