Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, are set to marry in a grand ceremony at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12. The three-day celebration promises to be an extravagant affair, with invitations featuring traditional red and gold designs already sent out to guests.

The main wedding ceremonies will commence on July 12 with the auspicious Shubh Vivah, where guests are requested to wear Indian traditional attire. The following day, July 13, will be marked by the Shubh Aashirwad, for which the dress code is Indian formal. The festivities will culminate on July 14 with the Mangal Utsav, or the wedding reception, where guests are encouraged to dress in ‘Indian chic’. All events will adhere to traditional Vedic Hindu standards.

Radhika Merchant, who is the daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant, has been in the spotlight for her relationship with Anant Ambani since 2018. The couple’s roka ceremony was held at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, in December 2022, followed by their Gol Dhana ceremony on January 19, 2023, at the Ambani residence, Antilia.

Earlier this year, Anant and Radhika hosted a pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, attracting global business leaders, heads of state, and celebrities from Hollywood and Bollywood. Notable attendees included Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Ivanka Trump, and corporate leaders like Gautam Adani, Nandan Nilekani, and Adar Poonawala. Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev were also present.

The pre-wedding festivities featured a performance by pop star Rihanna, her first in India, and an illusion show by David Blaine. Themed events such as ‘A Walk on the Wildside’ and ‘Mela Rouge’ added to the celebration’s grandeur. Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, and Madhuri Dixit, also graced the event. A sangeet performance by actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh was another highlight.

Anant Ambani, a Brown University alumnus, serves on the boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures and currently leads the energy business of Reliance Industries Limited. Radhika Merchant, a New York University graduate, is a director on the board of Encore Healthcare and a trained Indian classical dancer who delivered her Arangetram performance last year.

The couple’s love story, which began in childhood, gained public attention in 2018 and has since been celebrated by friends and family. The forthcoming wedding promises to be a memorable occasion, reflecting the grandeur and cultural richness associated with the Ambani family’s celebrations.
