Allu Arjun Released on Bail After Spending Night in Jail Over Pushpa 2 Stampede Tragedy

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has been released on interim bail after spending a night in Chikkadpally Central Jail following delays in paperwork. The actor was arrested in connection with the tragic death of a 35-year-old woman during a stampede at the premiere of his much-anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4.

Despite the Telangana High Court granting interim bail earlier on Friday, procedural delays and the absence of the jail superintendent resulted in the actor spending the night in custody. Allu Arjun had been placed in 14-day judicial custody by a local Hyderabad court before the High Court granted him temporary relief. The bail was granted against a personal bond of ₹50,000 for a period of four weeks, with the court ruling that there was no malafide intent on the actor’s part in the ongoing case.

The stampede incident occurred as thousands of fans gathered at the Sandhya Theatre to catch a glimpse of the actor, leading to chaos. The stampede claimed the life of Revathi, a 35-year-old woman, and injured her 8-year-old son. The incident sparked widespread concern and led to the actor’s arrest.

Meanwhile, Bhaskar, the husband of the deceased Revathi, expressed his willingness to withdraw the case, stating that he does not hold Allu Arjun responsible for the tragedy. “I am ready to withdraw the case. I was not aware of the arrest, and Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the stampede in which my wife passed away,” he said.

The actor’s release has brought temporary relief, but investigations into the incident continue. Authorities are examining crowd management protocols at the event to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
